An attractive website isn’t everything

I can’t tell you the amount of websites I’ve been on with exciting graphics and fancy layouts, only to find that the navigation and user experience is poor! Some sites look great yet when you go to the contact page, the form isn’t optimised for mobile so you can’t complete it correctly. Or you have a fancy homepage banner with lots of CTAs leading to broken URLs. I always say that it’s important to get the basics right first, and as the famous saying goes “you can’t polish a…” Well you know the rest.

By getting the basics right such as good quality content, correct links, nice SEO title tags and meta descriptions, easy to use contact forms and optimised images, you’re going in the right direction. You can then allows your website to evolve over time, whilst constantly making improvements. If you feel your website is lacking the basics, revise it and start a fresh, you won’t regret it later down the line.
