Getting heard at Christmas time can be pretty difficult because almost every other company will be running similar promotions. This means that the special Santa visual you’ve spent hours designing for your social media channels may not get as many likes or retweets as you’d like! That’s why it’s important to try and be different during the Christmas period. This isn’t exactly easy because you will of course want to produce marketing collateral that’s relevant to Christmas and the festive period in general, but how can you do it in a way that stands out from the crowd?

Create Visuals that are Christmassy yet specific to your audience
By this we mean that you should design a Christmas visual that ties in with your products or services. If, for example, you’re a window cleaning company, you could post a visual of your clean windows showing the view inside a home with Santa by the Christmas tree. That way the Christmas material can be appreciated
by people in your industry as well as your loyal customers. Another example, may be if you’re a photographer and you’re pushing a promotion on events photography. Why not hire a Santa costume, a model and have some fun, producing images that show your photography skills in a way that hamornises with Christmas.
These are two fine examples for social media marketing at Christmas but of course to really be heard you have to be able to produce regular content across all platforms. One way to do this is to either blog or post updates on social media channels in a countdown to Christmas method.
As an example, you could do an offer a day:
“One the first day of Christmas my butcher gave to me, a discount on chicken and peas.”
Or something to similar effect!
